I've read that the corsair and a number of the other aircraft in the 'museum' collection eg Spitfire are maintained in an airworthy condition, not a state owned museum, really just some south american squillionaires private collection on public display.

I suppose the rarity of the aircraft model, like some other ex airworthy aircraft of a rare nature that were 'retired' to static display dictates parking it up with a drip tray on the floor.

The owner of the collection is the owner of TAM Airlines (the largest airline in Brazil) isnt it?

That he is, and it is really a museum, in much the same way that the New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum is. Or is it to be considered only a squillionaire's toybox because it's not NZ-based?

They do have some superb machines in that collection, the vast majority in airworthy trim, and some others such as a Bf109G with original bullet holes! Definitely have to check it out when I'm next in Brazil..... :P Seriously CLEAN and well-presented facility - it was visited by FlyPast magazine several months ago, hunt it down for a look.

Superb shots guys! Ian, you devil! I was working on a paint of FUI/NZ5201 but it was too difficult for me so I gave up! Nice to see a birdcage with Kiwi roundels in FS at long last!!!

Not at all Zac, no mention of toybox anywhere, I'd be interested to read that flypast write up, didn't know it was a full blown museum, only knew thay were on public display,......... oh to be a squillionaire :D and be able to do something like that, and share it with the minions

I will attempt FUI for the dware corsair when I'm done with ZK COR, the texture files are I imagine a bit easier to work with than the AH one, Ian's looks (going by the reg NZ ??40) suspiciously like the scheme that comes included with the AH corsair (or has he been busy)
