Nice to see the Hudson bombers from number 2gr squadron flying over Omaka my dad flew NZUHW on recon training before being posted to Henderson Field
Quadalcanal. I have a photo of the hudson flying over the outer Marlborough Sounds. Taken about 1942. Good luck with the competition.

Any chance of posting?

My Grandad was in Guadacanal also, he was a marine whom helped take and defend the field.

The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang was a long-range single-seat fighter aircraft that entered service with Allied air forces in the middle years of World War II.
After the war, New Zealand bought a number of Mustangs, which were assigned to Territorial Air Forces in the different provinces around the country. This Mustang is shown in the red and black markings of the province of Canterbury in the South Island.

It is so hard to select just one shot for the competition each time, but great fun!!! Here is another entry, the Real Air Spitfire over RealNZ Southern Lakes Scenery, with the aircraft over Hawea flats near Wanaka. Just as brown as it is in real life! Pity that I could not include the sound to go with it as well.

smooth landings.
