Try applying reverse thrust before you touch down... definitely not in the POH, but should help you stop ninja.gif

alternatively, take all the aircraft off the deck and land longways! winkyy.gif

Just been watching the the videos on YouTube about the Herc landing trials on a Forrestal Class A/C carrier. They applied reverse thrust when they were 4 feet above the deck, and the landed length wise on the deck, althought after the trials they calculated that they could have landed on the agled deck. very interesting video

Managed it this time - with room to spare smile.gif . Got the carrier to go abit faster , slammed the Hercs engines into reverse thrust just before touch down and slammed on the brakes.
Landing successfully on the Angled deck is the next challenge.

To give some people an idea , The is the original Aircraft Carrier CV-59 USS Forrestal , I scaled the C130 to match , the largest COD system in the world .

It was never put in practice but sure makes it a lotta fun for a flight simmer , course the Nimitz class has a little more room ... only a little ohmy.gif

There is used of the c130 on youtube landing on deck and taking off with rockets attached

this one below just for fun

and the FSX landing i found

the rev thrust is the only way ive been able to do it unless there is a way for the herc to use cables ,,taking off mite be as easy as working out how to ad the NOS feature to the aircraft the is attached to the Extra 300 ?? mite look at that one or food for thought for you guys

They tried this dozens off time with different weight settings , you notice in the Utube video movies , the Herc only uses 400 ft to stop of the 600 ft angled deck , with the forward motion 33kt s of CV59 the C130 was able to launch after test just aft off the Island without JATO .
