http://www.alehouse.co.nz/http://www.thetwistedhop.co.nz/mainpages/thebeers.htmlThese are two examples of New Zealand's finest beers here. The complexity of flavours here will may you think twice about our mainstream beer.
Go and see for yourself. Unfiltered and unpastuerised beer holds so much more body and flavour, handpumped at 10 degrees with naturally fermented bubbles.
Honestly, i take my students to DB and then to Galbraiths and they are shocked at the difference. DB basically has a simple barley and hop mix that then goes through what i like to call 'the milkshake machine' and then add artificial flavours and colouring. DB bitter, Waikato, Export all come from the same base.
But all said and done i still love to drink all our favourites. Although i teach about beer, wine and spirits, at the end of the day i'm still drinking Chasseur! LOL
