Friend´s, after a very long silence I am back. Live is never easy. The ukrainian adventure is over... the price was all in all to high. My new home is back in Germany, but after the desaster I have a new girlfriend in Riga, Latvia... the world goes on.
O.k. so are the news. Here is something like a story. You know, my english is very limited, but I hope, you like the pictures.

Kalatschinsk... a small airfield without hardened runways... has seen better day´s. A athmosphere like a cemetery. Dozens of Antonov An 2 standing around the airfield, a bit covered with snow. They are often enough canibalised, Vandals have stolen something, some of aircraft are in a condition of beyond repair.
But one example is sitting here for the regional flights in the Region around Omsk. Here you can find a couple of satelite airfields to Omsk. They are in the winter the main source for supplies. Nearly everything, the people need must be flown in. So these flights are vital for the viability of the people in that region.

The old pilot´s are meanwhile gone and a new generation of pilot´s did not know emough about the subtleties of flying a Antonov An 2. Here you can see, how it looks if the pilot did to forget tu open the cowl flaps before starting the engine...

The panel of that plane is nearly the same like with the first one, build in 1947. Old fashioned, metric instruments...

The long way to the runway... all around "Antoschkas", that have seen better day´s.

O.k., time to go. The tower aproved the start.

Well, the Anna is not a Ferrari... time is not important.

We are flying into bad weather. But... the venerable old aircraft does his job well.

Cloud´s ... no VFR-conditions. But here in Sibira there is no inspector, that want your licenense, if you fly a little bit outside of the roules.

Okay, we are near Tara, time to check the freight before landing. Everything is allright.

We are in the aerodrome traffic circuit...

and now in the final approach.

To much height..

A bit right...

Not beautiful... but we are back on mother earth.

Time to bring the tail wheel down.

Time to unload... by hand.

Unloaded and secured...

We are going to the "Aeodrome Station Building". Hopefully Mascha have some Borscht and Tea for us two poor lotschiks. (aviator´s)

I have used FS 2004 for the flight. Freeware-Autor´s in Russia did not like the FS X.
The aircraft is freeware and you can find it here
