So, I did a repaint a while ago, for the RealAir Spitfire (FSX version)...heres another I've been working on....Appreciate any comments

Spitfire EN520, Colin Gray's aircraft while CO of 81 Squadron in Malta. Colin Gray was NZs top scoring fighter pilot of WWII, with a tally of 27 confirmed kills, two shared, six probable kills, and four shared probables.

Taxiing out....

Wheels up!

Showing off before heading offshore for a visit to...

Kapiti Island, and time for more showing off before heading back to the mainland

For a quick flypast over Waikanae, where Colin Gray died in 1995, age 80.

The only comments you're likely to get from me will be totally useless ... ie. Fantastic, awesome ... GIMME GIMME GIMME winkyy.gif

I'm hardly the person to say 'ere ... the red colour on the spinner was actually blue between May and June 1941 ... (I'm sure it wasn't!).

Can't wait to add it to my Realair fleet!

Awesome paint effort Mark, looks great. Just in time for Wanaka too winkyy.gif

Dont spose you have any links to share re weathering and/or reflective painting etc would ya, I've done a few repaints but they're pretty basic, would like to know how to take things a bit further

Hmmm...well I wish I could be some help, but to be honest, the RealAir paintkit meks me look fare more artistic than I really am!

Each texture in the kit is as a multi layeres photoshop file, and they have layers for "wear patches" that are overlaid on the underlying textures. Through cunning use of opacity, etc, the final effect looks amazing. Seems to be a pretty good approach to me...

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone! I'll finish it off (today?) and get it uploaded somewhere for you all! biggrin.gif

smile.gif If you can't upload to one of the usual "biggies" for some reason, then I can always stick it on NZFSim ...

I'll grab it from your link (thanks) and FTP it up there. Of course - if you want to add more repaints (of your own or by others) I can set you up as an admin. You'd be more than welcome. There's a small group of NZFF admins that have put stuff up in the past (thank you!).

I've already created the entry here ... but without any file info.

UPDATE: File grabbed, uploaded and entry edited. Looking forward to flying it!
