The one thing that defines VLC though the entire backbone off the South Island is the snow covered alps and the main divide , simply MAGIC!

Nice pics Rob!! I'm loving your VLC progress reports smile.gif

It still looks really brown and desert like (like the default FSX for NZ) in texture colours though, but perhaps that's how it is down there? Forgive my ignorance, but I've never been to Queenstown in real life

Pretty much. Take a look at these photos for quite a good representation of Queenstown.

In reality, a large chunk of the South Island high country is pretty brown for some of the year, depicted as desert-like in the default FSX only because the resolution of the default landclass isn't high enough to show the real detail. This is where VLC shines, overcoming the limitations of normal landclass.
However to show that brown isn't the only colour down south, here's some Winter shots of Queenstown. And some AI-watching, just for the fun of it:)

I've often wondered if my sim was too green at times but the brown textures never seemed right. Thanks to the pics Rob linked it's clear that's how it is! Cheers guys

Just VLC. That's all.
