Spitfire Screencomp

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Postby Adamski » Sun Jun 20, 2010 7:58 pm

Treat this as a suggestion for an UNOFFICIAL screen comp. Maybe Rob will be able to set up some voting for it later on.

1) ONE pic only per person.

2) As we're not limited to *banner* format - any size/shape will do ... though maybe 1024px wide maximum.

3) Any Spitfire ... any place ... any time!

4) Editing allowed - though (obviously) the original screengrab has to be from MSFS.

5) A short paragraph of info: MSFS version, aircraft maker/version, addons used etc. etc.

6) Closing date: End of July.

7) Prize? A ride in the back seat of Doug Brooker's 2-seat Spit. Only kidding!!! laugh.gif

In no danger of overstressing the elevators or airframe:-

Spit overhead Hawea flat, FSX and RealNZ scenery and the RealAir Spit.

Smooth landings.

Question on rule #4, how much editing, is too much editing? Would a composite be crossing the line?

Shane , edit to your hearts consent ! build , create , make and paint . RULE No.4 is an old guideline , Being a art critic i can draw a line , big thing is , i have a very open mind .. well destructive as well in the since i like impressions .. may offend some people but many ways can tell a story smile.gif

OK then,

but if this is a little "too much" ,

I'll be happy to replace it. winkyy.gif

And I should probably mention,

that no 'real' spitfires were harmed in the making of this edit. plane.gif

Difficult to say (!). Lifting an aircraft out of one image and "plonking" it over some unrelated background would be a shame, IMHO - but that's only my opinion - the rules are up for grabs!

I tend to want to be able to show off something that's possible from MSFS (albeit with a few add-ons) rather than showing off my own Photoshop skills (or lack of!!!).

I think a camera is a good analogy. We can have cheap cameras, or spend a fortune on good lenses etc. ... but it's being in the right place at the right time and composing the image *at that moment* that creates a good photograph - or captures that memory.

Long-winded as usual ... I'd say if you make "substantial" edits - just tell us what you did ... it'll be interesting nonetheless!

Too right!!! You *bent a Spit*!!! Aaaarrrrrrrrrgh! ... and that Me109 is getting away!!! After him, boys!!

Looks like I'm going to have to wheel out my Spit!!!

Sometimes, I'm the poster child for abuse. biggrin.gif

I love the Spit, but every now & then,

a 109 was able to get the better of them. (but not very often winkyy.gif )

Had to give a little credit where credit was due. LOL!

I'll be replacing that one, with something a little less drastic. blush.gif
