Markus' paint on the Veneaviones Turbo Commander got me really interested in this great freeware model, and so I took it on a series of west to east photo recce hops, airfield to airfield, north of Auckland.

I've done parts of this jaunt several times, and it never fails to delight.

Wind out of NW so had to go the long way round to approach NZNE:

Quick one engine stop at Pauanui, then perhaps on down the east coast to Tauranga...

Ian, you'd probably know every bush down the Coromandel haul...after all, you made 'em!

I suppose it's late in the piece to hope for any more scenery design in FS9, but nice to dream - wouldn't it be something to get the Coromandel photoreal covered, and autogenned, top to bottom?
It's one of the few places where my RBE mesh/topo + GE Pro texture set just won't cut it.

An all-time Great bit of Work, that was...dotted with Lawrie's sceneries, exactly the way FS stuff should be developed.
