'V' I new the Vulcan was to in there .. now that is one brought twice , once for FS9 course a later FSX ... Dean said it "Vulcan and Victor rock.. look very purposeful" ...dang put windows in the fuselage , it really looks to docile to be a serious warplane .. best 50s passenger liner

Cheers Ian....Victor and Valiant are Alphasim (fs9) and the Vucan is the Just flight model, i found the Iris vulcan a bit odd....could have saved some money there, but...you live and learn

I've always wanted to recreate one of those round-the-world races they did in the 50s/60s using V-bombers and other cold-war delights. I think the Canberras used to take part in them didnt they?

I think they did deeknow.....when christchurch airport opened Im sure it was the same time as a big air race, and a canberra won (in is class) i think.....Ian will know

As I was looking at them I was wondering if the 'shapes' of aircraft are indicative of the culture/country they came from? All of the V series aircraft are still quite rounded and 'natural' looking even though they were designed to penetrate the sound barrier.

Compared to the American and Russian aircraft of the time which, for the supersonic aircraft, were all quite angular. American and Russian aircraft were designed for maximum performance and be damned if looks like junk!

...or was it simply that the Russians and Yanks had a lot more money to throw at the problem of supersonic flight (and so arrived at more angular craft, effective at supersonic speeds, more quickly?)

Thanks Timmo....interesting point you made. I think I'll look deeper You can tell where cars of that era came from.....i mean , just compare anything from the UK in say, 1960 with something from the states.....and Russia.....could be a theme there.....interesting

Ok... I trust you....I still have it. I just wasnt that keen on the internals compared to the other one. I'll give it another go.........

Oooooo Boy ! if you want a true Cold War Bomber from the period , this IRIS and XH558 Vulcan to the Sky really put you on the hotseat !
