Seen this ones little brother do a wing over from runway to possible 1200 AGL , pull it tight in the airfield parameter , this was 1988 in Australia , Richmond Air Force Base , the AN225 was then rumour , 90's Paris Airshow showed the aircraft so docile due to its size was easy to handle , course back then was designed for or to carry the 'Bruan' , the Russian Space Shuttle .

Yup, gotta hand it to those Ruskies - they know how to make BIG aircraft! I also liked the Messerschmitt Gigant (power version, not the glider) and the Heinkel Zwilling - German aircraft designers certainly had a ball farting about with adventurous designs...

Incredible how that behemoth is able to maneover so well! I've seen a vid somewhere on uTube of one of these things taking off (somewhere in England). Because they are so big, they don't seem to be moving very fast. I remember watching the vid and thinking "Is that guy gonna drive back to Russia"? laugh.gif And then, the aircraft just lifts off and starts flying! Very odd to watch for a 1st-timer! tongue.gif
