Now that I've figured out how to post screenshots there's no stopping me...
After taking off from Auckland International today in my Catalina, over Manukau Harbour, couldn't help noticing two 737s coming in spaced about 100m apart. What's up with that?

Heading west I decided that pulling back on the prop levers might get me going a bit faster but sadly both engines spluttered to a halt at 3,500 feet so my first thought (not yet knowing what to do with an engine failure in-flight other than soil my trousers) was to land on Whatipu beach, just to the north, and then I remembered I was in a seaplane, so it might be better to land on the water instead. Actually that was my second thought, - my first thought was to call Mayday!, but I couldn't find that option on the radio menu (WHY???
)
After executing a gentle 360 to the left (don't want to get too far out to sea) and lowering the floats I landed gracefully (at least I thought so) into the wind and then my mouse went involuntarilly into yoke mode, which it does sometimes, much to my annoyance, so I wasn't able to left click anything to start the engines again... I've since found out that control + y is the way to toggle this off, so I'll try that next time.

Just another day with FSX.
