I dropped a line to Nigel , this was many months/year back , i was searching details , Blake got the model - i really wanted this but , simply i held back as cheap as it is ........ just did not look right .

It still is a bloody great effort , maybe should buy and see if what some very good screens pointed out .

Beautiful!! I love the second shot........ how accurate is the model?? I mean, when you park up and shut down your engines does the aircraft get covered in that spanky white 'condom'?!?!?!? tongue.gif

I just love this, nice shots Splitpin biggrin.gif

The only thing that bothers me, is the nose might be slightly too short, and the engine intakes too 'curvy in' if you know what I mean? Still, better than any other A-4 out there, including the RAZBAM one biggrin.gif and I love the cockpit radar.gif

Thanks Ian, i think I'll buy it....costs more in gas to go and fly it on the other computer. I think maybe what is putting you off is the fact that its "Kahu"....and the hump has been removed....maybe.

Thanks Dan......Im not sure....I'll be out at wigram next week, so I'll get some "detail" shots of that one (with hump) and we can have a look. Yes, the old RAZBAM birds have had their day i think....but at the time the served well.
Thanks again, and I'll post an A-4 walk around set soon.

OK , time to check this out - only NZ20.68$ , ok im going in !

The RNZAF A-4K Skyhawk , a unique piece of RNZAF history for FSX

The external and internal models have been modelled to include many of the features of the 'Kahu' skyhawk. The 'Kahu' Skyhawk differed in a number of ways to its 'F' or 'G' model predecessors. Various appendages were removed or modified to accommodate the HUD and weapons system.

Project 'Kahu' recycled an ageing fleet and incorporated what was at the time state of the art technology. Once these aircraft were put through the program they became comparable to newer aircraft of the time. A cheap alternative to purchasing new aircraft, project 'Kahu' packed all new systems into an old frame.

In joint exercises with allies, the A-4K and their highly skilled pilots often beat their counterparts that were in aircraft far more advance than their own. With the A-4's small wing and its new avionics suite it became a respected attack aircraft.

The virtual cockpit is a faithful recreation of the true 'Kahu' cockpit environment. From a detailed HUD to the display units and simulated radar systems the 'Kahu' project is a very unique representation of a very unique aircraft.

Features:

* Accurate external and internal models
* 4 load out models with differing flight characteristics

- Clean, no weaponry or fuel on the stations

- Air to Air, features sidewinders and Fuel tanks

- Air to Ground, features MK82’s and Mavericks

- Fuel, features animated buddy store refueller

* Custom aircraft animations

- Animated drag chute

- Animated hell hole door

- Animated slats

- Animated refuelling system

- Flags, caps stairs etc

* Interactive, dynamic Virtual Cockpit
* Arron Swindles A-4 sound package included
* Detailed aircraft systems
* Patches and updates free as they become available (fixes and repaints)

For FSX.

For the price, it's OK......but as others have mentioned there are a few issues in the model, textures (slow to load and low resolution VC).

My brother (ex RNZAF A4 pilot) had a blast in it too and noted the somewhat optimistic performance at sea level and full loads.

But, well worth a look and I hope subsequent patches fix some of the issues.
