I love the Thunderchief too. Reminds me of the MiG-21. Very obviously a WARplane, but attractive all the same. Great pic, as ever clapping.gif

@Marty - have you discovered this site yet?: www.mysimshots.net. Could be a one-stop-shop for your collection!

Just to add one of my favourites of a jet originally from around that era:

I've seen this aircraft at displays and it's truly amazing! The mechanics hate it though, as every screw/rivet needs to go back in exactly the same hole or the colours won't match!

That link .. was more a way of maybe finding all your pics in one place <?> ... as they're dotted all over NZFF. Also, you get to see stats of views etc. I uploaded that Hunter pic (above) as a test, but I think it takes a while for each pic to be approved.

Yes - I do have amazing memories. Sadly many of them are from early childhood - when we were too poor to have a decent camera in the family. I think all our money went on the tickets to get in laugh.gif. Later on, I was lucky enough to have contacts at Fairford (and lived close by) so I saw many of the RIATT displays. For some reason, Gloucestershire seemed full of antique aircraft (and owners laugh.gif) ... so Spitfires, Hurricanes, Hunters were a common sight - as well as the RAF Tornados/Hawks doing *very* low level training in some of the valleys there. We lived half-way up the side of a valley and I remember looking *down* into the cockpits of the Tornados if I happened to be in the garden. You had to be out there already, as you really didn't get much warning!!!

I've got some fairly old video footage of some of these later displays which I keep meaning to transfer to digital (as I expect they're deteriorating badly) ... but I usually just *watched* the displays, rather than have my eye(s) glued to a viewfinder.

@Ian ... I thought that was A6's ... as in "Flight of the Intruder" ? laugh.gif but I suspect your historical knowledge is *way* better than mine!

Another nice screenshot, up to the usual standard.

Just wondering, how many aircraft do you have in your hangar now? There must be quite a fleet there. I would get confused with so many different types, each with their own systems and quirks.

What a pity that we cannot add sound to the screenshots,

smooth landings.
