I did a couple of flights technically today, departing Christchurch for Auckland. Both were on FSX, via the standard routing - CHAA1
But, the first was in the Level D 767, and about Taranaki FSX closed down with an out of memory error (haven't seen one of them before). So i restarted and took off again in the QWsim 752 instead, and made it all the way without issue.
Here are some screenies from these two flights, on FSX, and of course with VLC. (plus a couple of random extras at the bottom)

Taxi for departure towards NZCH runway 20

Climbing out of Christchurch on airway V175

Take two! This time in the RNZAF 752 - passing the foothills in North Canterbury

Past Culverden if I had to guess laugh.gif

Past where this flight is really taking place, sunny Nelson. I love the views at this point flying north/south. Wellington and the Marlborough Sounds off one wing, Nelson to Farewell Spit out the other. The best view in the world New_Zealand_etc.gif , and I've flown most of this world laugh.gif

Past POKOM and on the descent to WI

Getting lower, aiming for runway 05R NZAA

Approaching the head of the harbour, with a tail wind struggling to hold the airspeed down..

Getting all lined up, down and dirty, for the landing

Nearly there!

The autopilot landed this one - 51% landing, 49% crash landing, margin of error 2%

And some randoms from some sight seeing lately

The default DC3 out of Dunedin

The Cresco exactly where it should be, somewhere in the middle of no where - honestly I have no idea where this is

And another 767 flight out of Christchurch, which ended with a strange terrain.dll crash. Think I'll stick with LDS767 in FS9 laugh.gif

Cheers,

That may be true Ian! But I can never understand why in that case am I not sick of this yet? laugh.gif I loooooooove simming wub.gif ... If I have a heart attack and die simply plug me into my simulator and I'll be good as new again smile.gif Despite the Level D crashes it goes to show what a modest machine can achieve, providing it's well tuned.

Alister , if i had to choose , No.2 , the 767 over VLC in that lighting and atmosphere is as real as you can get , it really defines North Canterbury

Thanks Ian. glad you like it. I almost didn't include it in this series, it was a bit of an after thought to be honest laugh.gif
