I thought I'd start this topic for anyone that (like me) had a hard time deciding on that "final" pic ...

Woodbourne on a very foggy morning, evening return to Ardmore ... and the Abel Tasman. All featuring Markus Hellwig's DC-3 repaint (thanks, Markus!).

The last one was the one I found hardest to "dump" over the much simpler Farewell Spit pic. Note the amazing camouflage on the Orions in #1 laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif (what are they doing there, anyway?).

Funny how tastes differ (probably accounts for my dismal success rate in the comps!). #2 was my least favourite! I liked the light, but somehow the composition seemed a bit awkward. I was trying to get as much of the airfield in as I could. Yes, I really do like the NZWarbirds Dak! Apart from the fact that it's such a stunning looking aircraft, it's a joy to "fly" in FSX. Sort of feels heavy and majestic. I grew up with the sound of Dakotas and that drone still sends shivers up my spine - almost in the "Merlin" class (but not quite!!).

As I've probably posted here many times - we once had a trip in the NZWarbirds Dak down to a display at Ohakea. It was such an amazing experience all round (and what a way to arrive at an air display!!!). All at NZWarbirds truly love what they do and it shows. I think that, even with current spending cuts, the government should totally fund this iconic piece of NZ aviation history. It really isn't often you get to actually fly in a museum piece!

@spongebob206 ... thanks!

It does indeed! Of all the aircraft ever produced, the three I think look totally *just right* are the Spitfire (of course!), the Dakota and the Hercules. Incredibly, you can often see all three here in NZ on the same day! We really are blessed! Drat - I forgot to include the Hawker Hunter!

If these are rejects, I will have to search for your "good" shots, which should be stunning!

I really enjoyed doing that one! I'm still hurt to this day that it didn't win! Maybe it was because the theme was specifically "helicopters in the clouds - no green stuff showing" laugh.gif

laugh.gif You really do need to get help for this "anti rotor" phobia of yours....i think 10mins in a small room with "rotordude" "chopper nut" and "h500fan" should see you cured....or at least healed winkyy.gif

But, that screen is a classic.... thumbup1.gif

I pass a motion that if these are rejects then Adam should not be allowed to enter any screenies comps tongue.gif winkyy.gif

I honestly cant see what you found wrong with them, I really cant.... Nice shots...

Thank you, Sir! I'm beginning to like the foggy one more and more now. Hmmm ... I think I'll put up a poll laugh.gif

@doug - It got stuck there by all the spilt/congealed tea from previous attempts! Seriously, though (not!) ... it was this!

I second that......only show us what you "would" have entered....if you were allowed.....which your not ....anymore. tongue.gif

Im starting to like your first shot more....the dak is coming out of the fog (clever) and the 2 P-3's in the background look good...i like the way the landing lights look in the mist......theres more to that shot than meets the eye. And # 3 is just great.......rejects dry.gif ........your banned.

Hi All
I have been looking over these forums for a few months now but this one comment from Splitpin to Adamski pushed me to join and add a comment

“You really do need to get help for this "anti rotor" phobia of yours....i think 10mins in a small room with "rotordude" "chopper nut" and "h500fan" should see you cured....or at least healed â€￾

Trust me, after going to many air shows with Adamski it would take many hours/ days to even start to fix Adamski phobia of helicopters smile.gif

Keep up the excellent screen shots folks.

Aha! BIG welcome Bob ... *virgin* post!!

I think "phobia" is putting it mildly laugh.gif ... more like undiluted hatred winkyy.gif. Not only are they ugly, they sound just *awful* ninja.gif ninja.gif ninja.gif

That should stir things up somewhat!

Incidentally - I went to see if helicopter-phobia exists (it doesn't) ... but I found this: Phobophobia – fear of having a phobia. Hahahahah!
