Heh! You must have just read my "rejects" topic ... about me believing that the Herc is one of the top four aircraft (of all time) that look "just right". It really is an aviation legend. Great pics, as ever - just can't decide which of those two I like the best! Not a cloud in sight ninja.gif !!

Hmmmm ... I thought they weren't too hard to "transmogrify" .. lemme go have a play ... Ian - didn't you have something to do with these??

UPDATE: I tried to re-download them, but it looks like they went AWOL in the great Avsim disaster. I do have the old files somewhere <!!>, so I'll put them up on NZFSIM.

If you hold fire a sec ... I've just about finished re-saving the old BMP repaints as DDS. I'll compile them all into one archive then put it up on NZFSIM. The old FS9 versions do work, but you need to tweak the aircraft.cfg file a bit.

Make sure the "tweak the aircraft.cfg file a bit." is clear...your talking to a guy who can turn a pc into an inanimate object very quickly unsure.gif

I've got that T-shirt as well sad.gif

Here's a combined zip with the four CS RNZAF repaints that I've re-worked into DDS format: RNZAF_DDS.zip. It's around 12Mb. Let me know how you get on - you can be my crash test dummy laugh.gif!

I've just noticed the prop texture may be wrong on the 2006/grey scheme ... I may just fix that. UPDATE: New file with fixed props uploaded smile.gif

Adam thumbup1.gif

But.......the 60's scheme is the only one of the two stripe schemes i get to show up. I added both as per any other texture addon, altered the cfg as directed...but only the 60's was there.....?
Its the 80's one i really want...Im not sure about that 60's paint......the yellow prop tips seem odd, and that compass on the tail came much later ( from an airforce wide design competition) in the early 80's from memory.....

Anyway, I'll take out and try again......thanks Adam ...your the man winkyy.gif

I'll check the config files I have. Are you giving them difference xx numbers - and altering them in the corresponding [flightsim xx] and *title=* sections?

I must admit though, I was hard pressed to spot the difference(s) between the 60s and 80s versions at first. The main difference I could see was a grey lower half of the fuselage <?>. I've no idea as to how accurate either of these 2 paints are. Not my work - you may try contacting Dave Sweetman <?>.

As to the yellow props. I agree - they don't look right - but they're are definitely the ones those paints came with. If we can find a decent photo reference, it shouldn't be too hard to re-do.

UPDATE: The only pic I could find was of NZ7002 - and it's props appear to have the silver/red/black scheme ... so copy the C130_11.dds from the 2006 (or Camo) paint over to the 1960 and 1980 directories. I've now remade the compiled zip.
