I dont want to compare this with the Spitfire.......but, they dont call it the cadillac of the skies for nothing.

My word, a plane made out of tin foil!!! Now, that's a "clean machine"!!!

All that work with the Steelo Pad has obviously got you a great finish.

Yesterday I was looking at a large display of Mustang photos from WW2 at Iwo Jima.....http://picasaweb.google.com/7thfighter/ ... 0448181842

Have a look and see how the real work-horses looked.

Just waiting for a non cam paint of the A2A spitfire.....sick of all that brown on brown.

Thanks Bazza....the shot is of a restored "show' bird....F-6 was a photorecon platform, the camera is on the port side, and wing was marked with reference marks for the pilot to line up.
But real working stangs werent so pretty....what a sad sight seeing that 51 and B-29 on fire....great pics...thanks for the link.

a far cry from the "good old days..."

Yip had to get this one ill hold up till A2A comes along , i have Jan Taffy paint and 'dang what a stang' , the cockpit is superb , the polished affect is due to the type being the airshow types flying around the world , well looked after

You've inspired me to go and have a look at the Warbirdsim website (I'm a big P51D fan). I see that all their models supplied in the P51D package are restored aircraft, rather than battlefield warriors - hence the nice new look to them. This looks like a great aircraft. Pity I've just spent all my spare cash on a bit of a computer hardware upgrade I'll just have to stick to staring at my 1:32 scale model here on my desk

Alister , let your money tree grow , the Warbirdsim P-51 is nice , and a good stop gap , wait for the A2A P-51 , my personal recommendation !

Again, its what you like....Im not a systems fanatic....externals and sound are my areas of interest. I dont think its possible to compare (fairly) this with the A2A.....just like the realair spit and the A2A....comes down to which one pushes your buttons.......i love them all, i do understand the "as real as gets" mindset, thats great.....but its not everybody.
Sometimes that is taken to the exreme...eg Nemeth CH-53.....I still cant start that bloody thing

We are slaves to this hobby...always waiting for the next upgrade, new model, patch ....today its great....new boy arrives on the block, and the "old" becomes redundent....for me , the A2A P-51 will have to be REAL good to top this one , and Im sure it will be....but i wont compare....you cant.

Hang in there - the way it reads to me, there'll be a batch of 'war-worn' D models for those of us who like a little scratch and dent. IMHO they are the definitive Mustang people just as many of you (not me) regard A2A with their Spitfire.
