It was a YS-11T and I thought it was by Team KBT - wasn't, team is AFG!
A stonking FS model, great VC, and the best RR Dart sound set you've heard.

Sean, the specular reflection seems wrong on that model; you'd expect diffuse reflection on the fuselage, and bright specular on the nacelle (which in the screenshot is quite dull)

Is a YS-11 a licence built Hawker Siddley 748? Nice screens too!

Nope its a bit bigger ...pure Japanese design and built...although it has Dart engines same as the HS-748

Thanks for all the comments! The YS-11 has been my favorite aircraft since the days of FS2002!

A freeware FS2004 (and allegedly FSX) compatible YS-11 is made by the Allied FS Group (AFG) and is available from most major FS websites. The current version is v 2.7.

@Charl,

Not sure what the T model is, the common models are:
YS-11-100 through 600
(most common models operated models are 100, 200 and 500)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NAMC_YS-11

Not quite sure what you mean in regard to the reflection, since the nacelles were painted when in use by JTA. They are not supposed to be metallic and shiny.

Regarding the sounds. The AFG package has the best soundset I've ever heard! I've even applied it to this payware model! (I've also applied it to R. Piper's HS.748, since they use the same engines) smile.gif

@Conner,

The YS-11 was a completely independent development. I agree that the aircraft look similar, but they definitely have noticeable differences between them. (tail structure, overall aircraft dimensions such as length, cockpit systems and arrangement, etc)

Probably a pre-conceived notion on my part - as I recall Darts were nice and shiny, and silly to paint 'em!

The -T variant was operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force, after the commercial version flopped.
Bit like Nimrod/Comet and Tristar among others I suppose.
I've only ever had this one (to help populate some Japanese airbases for the Cloud 9 Phantom, mainly) and had never looked for the civvie version...
Here it is:

The model, like the real thing, is totally underrated and hardly ever mentioned, so I was delighted to see it pop up here.

Ah, gotcha. Didn't know they called the military ones the "T". Thought they were just YS-11-600s. winkyy.gif

(And I agree that it would've been nice if JTA left the engines unpainted, but at least the rest of the livery looks sharp!)

The freeware AFG model is certainly amazing! Plenty of nice repaints too!

Flightsim.com file names:

Combi version = ys-11com.zip
One of the pax versions (a few variations) = ys-11jac.zip
Coast guard version = ys-11jcg.zip

I recommend that everyone check it out! It comes with a very easy to understand, comprehensive manual too! (In addition to the manual, you get copies of the actual checklists too!)

.............
The FSX-Native Aerosim payware version is here:
http://www.aerosim.co.jp/eigo/page1_e.htm
(May have to scroll down. You'll see it....YS-11 for FSX)

Aerosim version FSX repaints:

You can expect more YS-11 screenshots from me soon! smile.gif

Finally, if anyone starts flying one of the YS-11s and needs or wants assistance, just let me know!
I've been flying the AFG model since the days of FS2002, and more recently the FSX Aerosim model, so I'm very familiar with how to operate them!
