An invented formation - just wondering if the next word heard was "pull".

I was recently in Vegas and could see Nellis fairly well from the hotel/casino we were staying in- It was crazy to just stand there for 20 minutes watching wave after wave of all kinds of aircraft come in: F-16s, A-10s- The US is definitely well equipped for war!

Speaking of Vegas, I did a repaint on the weekend of one of the Janet 737's for the Wilco model if anyone's interested. These machines are operated by defense contractor EG&G operating out of KLAS to various military bases in the area, including Area51, aka Groom Lake. Of course the airport doesn't "officially" exist but it is in the sim, and there are AFCADs and photo-real scenery of the area available. I've been having fun blasting back-n-fwds between AR51 and KLAS over the last few days, cant wait to do a leg online and see what VATSIM ATC make of it as in the real world they change call-sign and frequency when approaching the restricted area and effectively disappear of the public ATC network :-)

Anyway, a screenie of my texture follows, its not a super inspiring livery on the real-world aircraft, but there were some fun details. You can d/load it from flightsim.com, just search for "Wilco Janet".

War seems to have become part of the American way of life. Ever since we lost our best enemy when the Soviet Union crumbled, it's been tough justifying our military machine - our current UN endorsed forays are keeping the lights on at the pentagon.

In NZ we have a different defense method. Its called the "Why bother invading?" method. What it means is that our country is big and nice enough to live in, but the only real benefit anyone would have invading would be a nice walk over some mountains and plenty of milk.
Our defense force fill there spare time with activities like plucking lost boaties from the sea, playing camera ship at airshows, and more recently, shoveling liquefaction. winkyy.gif
