Ten or so east of Queenstown with Lionheart's Bucker 'Bestmann' - fun to fly.

Great stuff...is that a FS9 model in FSX?

Coincidentially I've just been reading about a flight test of the Bestmann..nice handling but slow...includes 19 panels of glass in the canopy!

Is it similar to a Me-108?

Olderndirt, you really like Queenstown don't you!

Arr the very same aircraft James Garner and Donald Pleasants (scronger and the fourger) used in the movie 'The Great Escape' smile.gif with Jerry at their tails all the time pirate.gif

Almost certain it is but it has an attractive VC and, as you say, slow and docile - believe it was a Luftwaffe primary trainer. As a former Brit, I take an almost guilty pleasure in German aircraft but, as my Dad said, Scotland never formally declared war.

The 108 (Taifun) had much higher performance - engine, retractable gear - actually a way for Willi Messerchmidt to perfect his ME109 ideas without offending the other side too much. Right now, I'm waiting with an impatient crowd for 'Classics Hangar' to release theirs. Somehow, NZQN became my default airport and I like it. Any outbound heading, it's all fresh to me.

Is there an aviation/war movie you haven't watched and remember? My only recollection of 'The Great Escape' is Steve McQueen bouncing that rubber ball.
