Harrier Multiplay

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Ian and I decided to check that the Wilco Harrier was usable under multiplay. After a little fun at the start with lack of fuel we finally managed a successful flight. Of course we managed to frequently lose sight of each other in the clouds over Wellington so it took quite some time before we settled down to try taking some air to air shots of each other. These are a tiny fraction of the hundreds of shots which I took - Ian probably has another few hundred of his own to sort through which I'm looking forward to him sharing with us.

Had a visitor in an F16 drop by to see what we were up to so he took the opportunity to practice some formation flying and maneuvers with us.

The Harrier has some quirks but is a thorough joy to fly. Ian and I can both recommend this to any of you who may be wavering . . . cool.gif

Don't appear to be any "hover" shots there lads, unless you count the first one where you're hovering on the ground tongue.gif

Ok you guys and gals. Just to show that it is possible here are a couple of hover shots. It's difficult to get good action shots of a hover; however, to satisfy your curiosity here are two views of the same hover. Taken over Ashburton. Notice the 0 KIA and 452 feet MSL in the red text.

I found that the nozzles mapped to my rotary (usually prop pitch) was *very* sensitive ... but doable ... the trick is not to try it with 100% fuel laugh.gif

Early moring start from Ardmore:

This aircraft has *so much character*!

Oops! Here's that thunderstorm the met warned us about!
