For more years than I care to count, I thought I was a life member of the ragwing Piper club but here, so late in life, I may be changing horses. This plane is fan-swear word beginning with f ending in g-tastic. We're at 10 grand out of Invergargill to Queenstown then probably RON Christchurch. Overlook the registration - there should be a ZK paint soon.

Abeam the Queenstown VORTAC and NDB - another beautiful evening for flying.

Loafing along at 235 kts IAS - 30" and 2500 rpm. This plane produces 38" for takeoff - more than half the P51. It's definitely an autopilot plane and I like it - where was all this good stuff when I was flying a ragwing Piper smile.gif ?

There is/was a blue Lancair IV lurking somewhere... 'Twas on the cover of the NZ Wings mag around 1997.

Yeah that was Chris Tom's Lancair. His Lancair (it was non pressurised model though unlike the Orbx model).

Note: Edited to correct wrong name

Nope....that may of been one of the smaller two seat Lancairs...the only 4 seat one here was sold overseas some years ago - early 2000s IIRC

Here's some more info on it..
