Descending down low to scare the oldies in Waikanae! That's Kapiti Island in the background.

Time to get low, buzzing Paraparaumu at a reasonably low level, roughly 600kts. Noise complaints later received but dealt with by way of 1x 55mm rocket pod on the way home. Local council now understand they are not really government at all.

Bear Studios J7E but everything else is default. I actually had some more but they don't appear to have made the move from the PC to my HDD somehow dry.gif

I really do not like the Imageshack format , horrible - but driving your Jets down up/to Waikanae scare the oldies ... only reply you will get is 'Damn boy racers'

I've a photobucket account so I'll be using that for the next lot, which should come tomorrow night.

As for this lot, I just realised that I've used two different versions, the CAP and the CAS. Whoops! laugh.gif

Some new pictures. A quick patrol to the north of Ningbo, PRC, but avoiding Shanghai as it's rubbish there. Lots of Cessna (Cessnas? Cessnae? I'm Alan Par- whoops!).

So we start off at 0730 heading out to the runway. Strangely, the taxiway doesn't extend to the end of the runway.



Rotation/TO. You can see the low laying cloud quite well. Remember the cloud.



Gear retracting.



Cruising around. In this and the next shot you can see well the double delta the Chinese added to the J7E and G to improve performance.



A badly trimmed aircraft!


It cleared up a bit to the north.



Intercepted + Buzzed a Cessna. Close enough to hear his engine as I blew through! plane.gif




On approach. The J7 seems to need quite a long approach as it takes a bit to slow her down. It's also very hard to see over the nose on approach so it's sometimes better to just throw her down.




Looks like I'm buying the beers tonight! About 100m short of the runway, underestimated where the airfield was under my nose. Bit of panelbeating should knock out most of the dings.

biggrin.gif That is so Mig21 but not , now with being the most produced at well over 21,000 , add the J7 and its copies , now that would be a count . smile.gif I do prefer the full screen screenies they look great!

I'll have to look in my MiG21 book for the total number but as you say, it's significant! I'd like to buy one myself one day...to put somewhere, not to fly! The Russian engines needed replacing every 150 hours or so, it was their way of making money. So one for the ground would be fine biggrin.gif

The J7 really only has the fuselage in common with the original -f13 model the first one was copied after. Actually the whole copying process has been a feat in itself!

Interesting feature is the double angled cranked wing and obviously more wing area for better manuvouring

Yes and more fuel too, something the original -21 suffered from was short legs. Sorties of about 20mins were the norm for combat.
