I looked long and hard for an FSX dam in NZ .. is there one? I tried a few runs over the Cobb dam near Takaka but it looked pretty naff ... so took the old spinning dustbin for a test run down the Sound instead ...

They were great fun to set up and edit!

Thanks, Doug! I thought long and hard about it ... I particularly like #3 ... but I really like the original Hunter pic as well! Anyway - I've already paid loads of money to half the NZFF membership to vote for the Hunter ... can't change their orders now ... they're on a mission and un-contactable ninja.gif ... I think the word "deniability" springs to mind! laugh.gif

I'm still in shock with this month's comp! You deserve a good old pat on the back for setting up such tempting prizes ... encouraging all sorts of long time lurkers to come out of the closet!

Of these six outstanding shots, numbers three and six stand out a wee bit more.

OK I know you have Marty paid up to vote for you by the offer of an Airtruk in going order and a good close up look at the bra laugh.gif but I don't know about the others.
As for the lurkers that was a Rob thing sending out the emails I don't know whether I should give him a pat on the back for getting all those old forgotten members back or kick him in the butt for all the extra work I will have at the end of the month tongue.gif laugh.gif

Arrrgh ... no! You're in on this bra thing as well now laugh.gif ... boy, am I paying for that one! winkyy.gif

As for "Airtruk" and "going" I thought the two were mutually exclusive! I actually think Marty's secretly restoring an Aitruk in Hangar 54 in that museum of his. Imagine ... an Airtruk gate guardian! (Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!).

Yours upliftedly,

Glenda.

P.S. @Dave - thanks! The keen eyed may spot some Sherpa-styled tents stuck on the side of the mountain in #2 (just above the runway). Don't ask me what they're doing there ... German spies???

I've started making a pack of scenery objects including dams and power facilities in the Eastern North Island for VLC- All using default objects (the Dams are a little tricky to get to fit but are OK for a casual fly past smile.gif

I just need to figure how to distribute them (and with the probability that I won't be able to cover the whole country due to time constraints.....but these types of things are what we encourage other budding scenery developers to get on board and help with- They are easy to create - you just need an object placer such as Whisplacer or the default OPT- and Google Maps.

It's a shame the bouncing bomb is on her, it would have looked like the Tirpitz mission otherwise.

Bloody nice shots though.

Makes you wonder how that skipping drum would have looked from the bridge of the 'Tirpritz'.

One more flattering remark - exceeding our agreement. That number one shot would be no less beautiful - without the Lancaster.

Dang! Another one of my agents blows his cover!!! ohmy.gif

I always amazed at what FSX can "cook up" all on its own. I let REX+Real weather do whatever they do ... so it's always different. Often, changes occur when you're half-way through setting up a shot and you get a pleasant surprise. Though it's not my favourite (for a banner at least) the haze+lighting on #1 is gorgeous - with absolutely no interference from me either during the flight or editing ... just pure FSX.

For someone like me - that enjoys *looking* as much as the flying, FSX can be such a treat!

That's good news, Timmo. I suspect the sudden changes in elevation would be hard. I don't think I've ever seen a decent dam anywhere in the FSX world. Has anyone succeeded, I wonder?

OK folks! You lot talked me into it! The Lanc is *IN* ... the dear old Hunter takes a back seat ... to #3 thumbup1.gif

Sudden elevation changes can be achieved with flattens and then 'covered' with the dam. The only potential issue is for non-VLC users as the flattens are tied to the mesh heights which may result in some odd results.
