Posted: Sat Jul 30, 2011 1:40 pmA good old friend of mine was a Chief Petty Officer pilot of PBY's when Pearl Harbor happened. He was immediately 'mustanged' to the rank of ensign, eventually retiring as Lieutenant Commander. He said the shock of going from CPO to ensign was worse than an ice cold shower.
