A very similar operation , part of Operation Pedestal 1942 , fly to Spitfire from HMS Eagle to Malta ! , Now Sgt .. were is your photoreal Norfolk Island ?

He he yeah fair question Ian. To be completely honest i'm still getting my head around photoreal scenery, I tried a couple of demos and thought it looked a bit strange at low altitudes, everything is sort of flat so deleted it. I still consider myself fairly new to this so maybe I just need educating?? Installing was a drama too, (found some posts about installing scenery with win7 so maybe not so much now.) At the moment I have scenery with self installs only. Must say though I love the object built scenery all of you clever people build!

Sir Francis Chichester of course made this flight famous in his Gypsy Moth. He was the first I think not only to land a plane at Norfolk and Lord Howe but to utilize a means of navigation to find small islands in a vast ocean. Actually he inspired me to do this flight... next stop Lord Howe.

Pity there isnt a A2A Accusim Gypsy Moth but I guess that would of been a bit slow. I take my hat off for taking the Spitfire in any case. Did you do it in real time with Accusim activated?

Sgt , did you have a desktop mic or headphones and mic , 5 min chat on Teamspeak and you will be to install any off the freeware photo and airport scenery

Yep real time, although I had to pause it to do the dishes, and Accusim activated. Ithought the A2A Spit was perfect because I wanted an aircraft that would offer the challenge of running out of fuel if I got lost, plus the reality of accusim is hard to go past. Keeping her cool on a trip like this isn't a prob just following the cruise settings that are well published does the trick, Oh and don't muck around when on approach at low speed. Looking forward to lord Howe trip, then Aussie.

I will definatly take you up on that offer Ian sometime if I get stuck, like I said, saw some posts about it so will give it a go some time.
