For a person interested in either improving or reviving instrument flying skills, this panel is as good as I've seen. A little bit of the glass surrounded by good old steam gauges in an ideal arrangement.

Almost like a photo of the real thing isn't it?
Does the Aspen EFD1000 use the standard FS nav data base or can it be updated via Navigraph?
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

You may be asking the wrong person. When I learned to fly, 'digital' was something you did with fingers, or toes if you were really good. The data provided by Carenado doesn't reveal any programming capability, only how it handles input from the GPS430's and auto pilot.

The thing that troubles me with glass cockpits is that every one is different, a slightly different twist on the same story. winkyy.gif You get in an analogue cockpit and its all familiar and the infrmation is delivered in the same way. Analogue over glass any day for me. cool.gif

This one is a blend of both and, after lowering my seat and moving the panel closer, I find it a very comfortable scan. These GPS radios are almost mandatory in payware now and, once mastered, provide a ton of NAV info.
