just some shots from today.

What really annoyed me with this shot was the angle of the ils transmitter and the coordinates that appear during slew mode(I was only in slew mode cause you cant move your viewpoint round while paused) because i was gonna lose the blades of the chopper. Took me bout half an hour to fix it but i reckon it was worth it.

Sweet shots Andrew. Nicely framed.
What sort of effects have you applied to that last one, some kind of HDR thingy? And how do you flatten the colours like that, levels?

First of all happy birthday thumbup1.gif

Anyway all of this is done in gimp. I made a new layer on top of the base layer with only the chopper and ils visible. I then duplicated the base layer and desaturated it, adjusted the opacity so it didnt look to monotone. The layer with the ils tower and chopper on is moved to the top so that those two elements look vibrant and colourful. I then flattened the image to just one layer, duplicated that layer and applied the effect softglow. the opacity of that second layer with the softglow effect was adjusted so it didnt look to over the top. i then flattened and duplicated again, this time 'colourising' the new layer to a yellow colour, adjusting the opacity again. blur the trees by hand and add a a border, and your done (i think thats all of it, if you want me to il do a tutorial with pictures).

Anyway on a side note was mucking round with another pic :

And this is the edit i came up with
