Adamski out of exile at last!

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Postby Adamski » Tue Nov 22, 2011 12:11 am

Well - it's been a long and painful road. A solid three months in bed after having cracked some cartilage in my lower back (no - it wasn't the Kama Sutra - just a basket of logs picked up in the exact "how NOT to do it" manner!).

A very slow recovery where, in the last few weeks, I didn't dare fire up FSX as I didn't want to see what I wasn't allowed to have ... yet! Even NZFF from my laptop in bed was strictly verboten ... in case I got prematurely hooked.

To cheer myself up, I bought the A2A B-17 (can't wait for the P-40, Mustang and Spit MkV!!) ... and a slew of RAZBAM cheapies. Of course, I couldn't resist the new RealNZ Nelson - and have used it for this month's screencomp.

So ... prepare to endure the inevitable deluge ... here's the first batch winkyy.gif

I also bought "Shade" and loved this pic - till I realised I hadn't even fired Shade up laugh.gif

Hard to avoid playing with the A2A Spit after so long (and the upgrade)

Here's my screencomp "also ran"

Another A2A stunner ...

Looks like Belgium, OTW to Schweinfurt, but it's actually Christchurch laugh.gif

The "now where did I put the manual" PMDG 737 - simply the best jet add-on ever.

Did I say it's great to be back?

"Back" is a difficult word to avoid when you're back from having had a bad back but I'll do my best. You didn't lose your touch.

Thanks for the welcome [back] folks! "Normal Service" will be resumed as soon as possible winkyy.gif

I must admit that FSX looked absolutely stunning after such a long break. Maybe we all take it for granted somewhat. I've spent a fair bit of cash "improving" it over the years - and the latest scenery add-ons from people here have really enhanced "flying" in NZ. So much so, that I rarely go beyond our airspace.

As far as aircraft add-ons go, the latest releases (A2A/PMDG) really have raised the bar.

Now to catch up on some of these threads!!!!

Excellent to see one of the screenshot masters return. Glad you are feeling better, by the looks of it you have not lost your touch. One day you will have to show me how you make your screenshots look so good, mine always look rubbish in comparison

Yep winkyy.gif ... I used to know a bloke called "Rusty" - in Fidonet days (pre-Internet) that was the only person that knew the location of that spot in *that valley* in Wales. He managed to keep it secret for years (taking some stunning pics along the way) ... now everyone and their dog goes there and it's hard to get a clear shot without an anorak, mile-long lens or tripod in it.

I was lucky - working in a very steep valley in Gloucestershire - which the Tornados (and Hercs) also used a lot (not so much the Hawks in those days). Very often, I'd be outside at lunchtime - enjoying the sun - and would find myself staring *down* into the cockpit of a Tornado as it ripped past. The bit I always loved was when you got the sound *after* it had gone!
