I've just re-installed FSX (to clear out all the crud). After the A2A Spit, the WOP/Accusim B-17 was the very next plane I put on. It's a classic!! I really enjoy doing cold starts with it.

No, no no. You can't do this. I'm just starting and you're heading off somewhere else and getting intimate with another aircraft. How can you do that (well, if it's the Spit of Vulcan maybe I could understand) . .. . .

Well Marty, I'm a little embarrassed to say this but when I was out driving around the peninsula looking at the hills I turned to my friend and commented about how realistic the scenery looked!!
Oops, of course that meant I had to admit to my embarrassing little interest - luckily as an ex-pilot he did understand. Or at least he pretended to understand . . . .

laugh.gif ... you're going to be in very deep do-do when A2A release the P-40!!!

I've seen it featured in some of their videos and it looks ... amazing. Also, with the P-40's being such regular performers here at the airshows, I've really grown to like them (a lot). They look like real, 100% WARbirds - and though those Allisons don't purr/growl like a Merlin, they have a sound that's distinctively their own.

Now the Vulcan ... don't get me started! laugh.gif That reminds me (thanks) ... it's next on my list of re-installs.

Dave - sorry to hijack your post winkyy.gif ... are you holding out for the P-40 or maybe Mustang??

Yes, I might have to start two-timing (or is that 3 timing?) - actually I'm interested in both the P40 and the Mustang so there is going to be some hard decisions to make if they are both released at the same time! Which to chose first?

It does seem like the P-40 is more imminent, but then what do I know? laugh.gif Anyway - I'd support the local lads and hope we get the NZ repaints for it pretty pronto. Let's hope they stagger the releases a bit to maximise revenue.

For some unknown reason, I've always been hugely under-impressed by the Mustang (at air-shows etc.). I always *expect* to like it, but just can't - even though I try hard. It's not that I prefer the Spitfire (nothing comes anywhere near it for me) - I think I prefer many other aircraft over the Mustang - certainly the P-40. I saw a Tigershark at a show in the UK - and that was a stunner. Gavin's Fw190 pics in another topic also make me think I prefer the Fw as well!

That isn't to say that the Mustang isn't a superb aircraft - and it certainly played a *massive* role in WWII ... I'm talking pure "looks".

Now ... back to installing that old Vulcan!

My Mustang's the Warbirdsim version...........need I say more? Mike, over at Flight Replicas has a P40N coming up that'll be something - also the 109K so the plastic's in the 'fridge, staying cool for now.
