Yes indeed.. late war 109's had wooden tail feathers to ease metal demands

deeknow, this is the Flight replicas offering, i dont think you can go past it. Only thing is, the lack of "that" marking on the tail, i suppose in some areas it may still cause a little grief.....but its all history now.......the sound of that Daimler Benz is just magic.

I do like the 109 ... and some great pics there ... but I think I prefer the FW190! I'll drag mine out of the hangar and give your screenies some competition!

Woah, never really been fond of german engineering (except the occasional merc) but that 109 is a nice looking bird, No.4 is a helluva shot. five stars!

Is that the FS2004 109K? He's working on an FSX version but, on his site, it still shows as a WIP.

The sound on the 109 with the ram air intake left a completely different signature , but when at a level high above and in cruz it is very similar to the Allison and Merlin , we were just fortunate to have a DB601 in 1996 flown by Mark Hanna at Wanaka .

Answering my own question. Flight 1 handles Flight Replicas products and they have an FSX portover though it's not on the FR site.

Sorry Dave, bit slow in getting back to you. Thats the fs9 version....its not meant to run in fsx with acceleration......but it does.

FS9 , also get a prop fix from Flight Replica , a FSX requirement , also get a few holes in the cockpit .

That radial engine looks (and sounds) great! This is the "Classics Hangar" version - available now from JustFlight I think ... does that make your mind up Marty?

I's a very "twitchy" aircraft to fly ... and must have been in RL, as every combat sim I've ever tried that had an FW190 behaved the same. I suppose its counterpart must really be the Mustang, but I'd love to know how it would have faired against the later (Pacific) radial-engined US fighters. My feeling is that it would have run rings round them.

Kurt Tank's masterpiece, still on sale 'til the 15th at 'Classics Hangar' and I'm getting it.

I see on the Classic Hanger site there are three options on the FW190

:Fw 190 A, The Early Variants
:Fw 190 A, The Late Variants
:Fw 190 A Compilation

Any recomindations
