Ian.
Nice screen shots. Are you using default weather or another programme?

Is that true about the weather reporting? only three spots sounds a little inaccurate, I wonder if theres something that can done?

Apparently so or been told , least the automatic station which the REX reads from , guess the areas not covered is simply by radio and eyeball and end the day makes for an exciting flight into the coast when it gos fubar.

Unfortunately, yes; that is true. If you fly in the vicinity of the 3 main centers you're catered for; hit the South Island back blocks (Fiordland/Mt. Cook or Mt. Aspiring NPs et cetera) and you get ... Christchurch weather. Doh!!!

Of course, you can get local hourly NZ SYNOPs from weather-forcast.com (and they're extremely abbreviated, at that) or try VATNZ-VATSIM New Zealand (weather) (just as abbreviated). There used to be an app made by greaneyr, but the METAR link he supplied is no longer current. sad.gif

If you hold your PPL you can, of course, log into the CAA and obtain local METARs, but even that has gone the way of "user-pays". sad.gif
