Thanks to Marty/Splitpin for donating his extra prize to me (50% off any JF product!) ... to Doug for organising it ... and of course to Scott/Just Flight for so generously supporting us with December's prizes!

RealNZ Nelson - early morning start ...

... heading south-west ...

The nearest I could get to a Kiwi paint laugh.gif

I do love the old(er) British props ... and am looking out for a payware Britannia winkyy.gif. The Viscount is also a classic, and another great JF add-on!

Great shots Adamski!!

I have noticed the RAAF Girl has the Kangaroo's on the wings facing the wrong direction????

It is sooooo frustrating when the Kangaroo's are place in the wrong spot!!! angry.gif

Thats my gripe over!!

Thanks for the comments!

However ...

www.airforce.gov.au says: "The kangaroo within the Air Force Roundel always faces the left except when used on aircraft or vehicles, when the kangaroo should always face the front of the aircraft or vehicle."

... and before you ask winkyy.gif ... the RNZAF Kiwi: "The nose[beak] is always forward and on wings the legs are inwards, towards to the fuselage."

Nice shots Adam smile.gif

On a note the JF Viscount is wrong, Skippy should be positioned exactly as the Kiwi is on the wing. Legs in, nose forward, apart from on the F-111 where he flies feet first when the wings are back..

I do have a half completed NAC job hangered , start playing around with it today to get it complete for you Adam , Kangaroos were mentioned and positions and sizes during beta testing , the RAAF was a late one on the block and released without a fix .

So true! However, the Kangaroo on the wings of the "JF" RAAF Viscount are infact not facing forward at all..... When the Kangaroo is used on "aircraft" or "vehicles" the "roo" is to always face the direction of "main motion". When applied to the wings of an aircraft the "roo's" nose is to be facing forward with the legs towards the fuselarge. Just as the RNZAF Kiwi is set up.

The only "default" RAAF paint that i have found this to be correct on is the 37 Squadron C-130E from Captain Sim. The Caribou and Neptune from Virtavia are incorrect but suprisingly the Vampire (Virtavia) is correct????

I guess it is the fault of the country that use animals on their roundels? It just becomes to complicated.......LOL!! laugh.gif

Cheers.

Tim....

If it's just the "Skippy" issue, I think JF have it correct ... according to the official RAAF info (above).

EDIT: Correction - they have the fuselage roundels correct, but the wings ones are all wrong sad.gif ... thanks for the fix, Matt.

If you're doing some NZ-related paints ... then YES PLEASE winkyy.gif

thumbup1.gif looking great Ian......i saw an advertisement for a really nice diecast 1/200 model of "city of chc" its on pre-order from Iron Horse hobbies, a limited release due in march/april.
The only draw back is that its $90.....a lot of coin for 200th scale.
