The "Bismarck", her rudder damaged, has become a sitting duck for RN Swordfish. Revenge for the recently sunk HMS "Hood".

Right up my alley Dave

.... (shhhssss)

they attacked from the port quarter .. the Swordfish caused the Bismarks little turning problem , there leaving the major units HMS King George V and Rodney to knock her for a six , then cruiser Dorsetshire finished here off with Torpedo's .

If it wasn't for the fact that it was a BATTLEship and also "working" for the [then] enemy, I'd say that was one of the most beautiful ships built around that era. Still, you play with guns ... and you get what's coming to you

She originally did not have the rakish look , launch with straight bow rather the clipper ... but you are right ... the other two that held lines like this one was the Iowa class and off course the mother of all the IJN Yamato , some reason many designers considered the Italian Battleships more pleasing .
