When the Orbx and OZx sceney started coming out, I used to love downloading the plan-G files from the OZx site that listed all the non regisstered airfields and OZx airfields and flew half way around Ozy visiting them all and found some that really stood out from the rest.
I have just recently started a tour of the same type, flying all the unregisted airfields starting from Nelson. I didnt have to go far. Heres a few shots from the 1st cool airfield I have come to after passing over numerous plain grass strips on my way up to Farewell Spit.

Any guess's

Fantastic little strip this one! and made by a local winkyy.gif

We have a little update coming soon for NZSI which should show all these strips in the GPS, there are about 350+ unlisted airstrips included that you wont find in the GPS atm

I know that one I think! Dad always used to point it out as we drove up to Nelson. Kind of near the Murchison area and off to the right hand side of the road as you drive north-bound to Nelson.

Am I right?

Great screens anyway! Keep it up

Not quite. From Murchison, Take a bearing of 27.3deg True and head 52 nautical miles and you should find it. Its over 2500ft ASL

Haven't found that strip Andrew...was a bit cloudy when I was flying in the area...but did find the strip between Takaka and Motueka up in the hills. If you fly in a direct line between the two you will see it ...its about 5 minutes out of Takaka.

Maybe I should of flown without pants! laugh.gif ... the strip was rough as...so probably this is more suitable..

Wont show the landing...went through the fence! ohmy.gif

Your really close to it, I visited that strip aswel and only just pulled up short of the fence. If you take off and head west untill you get to the edge of that range (which is prob only a few miles or less) and track along the edge of it heading south and you will see it right on the edge of the range but still close to the top of it. ele is 2600 ft asl.

Happy hunting.
