Great stuff.....Whilst I appreciate what the Hurricane has done the Spitfire would have had more kills if there were just of many of them available as Hurricanes during BOB and they also attacked the bombers instead of taking on the ME-109s?

The Hurricane was a far more stable aircraft than the Spitty hence it made a better gun platform. Better rate of climb (I think) better rate of turn and far easier to repair on the fly. It ran out of puff up high, that was the main drawback.

The Spitfire was 'made' when Adolph Galland told Goering a squadron of Spitfires was what he'd like. Sound bites were killers, even then.

You gotta love the tenacious and guts of Galland .. Goering in his own right worst than Hitler .. just the dumb fool was scared when given the truth ....
Adolph Galland , you really had to admire that guy .

Hurricane did have a better rate of turn compared the Spit and 109 (early war) but was quite outclassed in speed and rate of climb (from what I have read).
Would make sense to put the 'lesser' machine onto the bombers, and have the Spits take on the 109s since the two types were the best in the business in 1940.
Sad times, but still love to see these old warbirds with such history in person, or in sim screenshots. Thanks
