I've been splashing out some of the hard earned stuff for a while on addons for FSX and every time I am impressed with the improvements in the sim experience, but it wasn't untill I recently purchased RealNZ Nelson and I was steering at a couple of really ugly AI aircraft with there blue and red stripes that I realised that something was missing.
I did some searching, asked some questions ansd settled on the free Orbix addon, and what a difference straight away the airports and skies are filled with very good quality AI aircraft that are seen in the NZ and AU region, suits me great as I only fly around NZ and mainly the Marlborough area. I have spent a big chunk of the day flying around different airports amazed at the AI aircraft I am seeing. The following shots were taken while flying from Ohakea to Wellington

A very pleasing addon biggrin.gif

I had an email from Graham Eccleston the author of the Orbx AI pack, growsing about having sport at their expense...particularly the Hornets and 135 are not his, but how was I to know: this is a thread called Orbx FTX AI!

My comments are really quite lighthearted, and I should know better, because I have offended many in the past in the same way.
Perhaps I should attach a permanent smiley to all posts.
Anyway, there is no umbrage here, and I'm sure everyone is delighted that Orbx/FTX has taken the trouble to put something together for the FSX crowd.

I always liked what Rob Muldoon said about the mass exodus..." it raises the average IQ of both countries."

Sorry thats not AI, its static scenery objects I placed when we had a the visiting Hornets that were been delivered to Australia.(and the RAAF F11's as well)

That scenery did come with a AI skyhawk package that populates the base. Otherwise a must have is Charls RNZAF AI package which works fine in FSX with a little tweaking and WOAI RNZAF package.

Speaking of the Skyhawks, this feature seems to have stoped working.
Do you remember when I had that problem with strange textures posted elsewhere on this forum. Since I have done a full reload of FSX to solve the texture problem, when I reinstalled Ohakea the skyhawks have not been back.
Any Ideas on how to fix this I loved watching them screaming around. blink.gif
