Tampa cargo DC-8 -71 in a bit of bumpy stuff.



I do love the old freight dogs.

Last time i saw a DC-8 was 1987 an during an Airshow .... .. pre Wobblyville , yes indeed .. only wobbly's was a HS-780 Andover bursting its tire POP .. straight to the Museum it went ... never saw that DC-8 again ... like a gorilla in the mist

Jeez... i remember that , that was a real airshow. I wonder where that old 8 went?

That 1987 Airshow in CHCH was the 50th anniversary of the RNZAF airshow, and also the London CHCH air race finish.
On the DC-8 front, i believe ZK-NZD which was Air NZ's Long Haul Freight dog was sold in 1989 to Connie Kallita and was eventually scrapped in 2001

No Problems, i have a DC8-51F with Air NZ Cargo paint that is available at the HJG site
must dig it out and screen it

Very atmospheric shot. I really like the dark lighting and how portions of the plane's profile are highlighted by the sun.

Thanks Sean, if i have a preferred "style" for screenshots , then it would be like this one. Sometimes what cant be seen (or only just seen) can be as interesting as a razor sharp high colour shot......anyway , enough of my waffle , thanks again.
