FSX territory... once in a blue moon I break out the FSX freeware carriers and do this stuff.
Night traps in 15 kt crosswind gusts...
Ian you probably have picked the toughest aircraft for the task, not meant for this, really.

Interesting how the chatter has quietened down: nowadays F-18s are essentially hands-off devices around carrier cat shot and recovery.

Plugged away at it and got it hooked cool.gif , thought .. time to load my FS9 and install the Cloud9 Phantom .. biggrin.gif had the FS9 running for 20 minutes .. still required proper setting up , arrr do that my F4 install the packages , one livery package .. sure there was two but installed the SP1/SP2 and crashed me FS9 rolleyes.gif ..... the things we do laugh.gif

Cloud9... one of those amazing addons but one that makes fundamental changes to the sim.

I tried one of their later sceneries, then uninstalled it.
Big mistake, it uses an addon manager and it took my beloved Phantom with it.
Because the installer had been updated (and I didn't have it) I got locked in a loop of frustration.

Eventually I killed the F-4.
Still miss it, though.

Well finally ... now making some headway ... I did see a scheme , US Navy from the USS Midway - but as you can see this FS9 model blows many of the current FSX paywares ten fold .
I cant understand why Cloud9 did not progress on this model for FSX which back in 2006 they said they would , it would still be a dang hot potatoe ! cool.gif

Look at the detail , simply jaw dropping ... now to get the idiotic code 'Password' to work past the eight minute trial , least i still have my invoice ! rules.gif

No joy with the Phantom stretch screen problem , searched the SOH data base for answers , but nothing really worked and most recently patch's ,as well Charl gave it away after so many attempts .. fancy is its a 'Slugger' and this is the best BUT Cloud9 reneged on the deal ... over the years it happens with many companies - fact was this one was so near perfect and complete , not a worry if its free , but this was payware and with a great return promise , guess they lost out ! blink.gif

I'll still have a plug and muck around with it , shrug shoulders appears A2A will get a very supportive MD SPOOK base of followers.

I've never actually owned anything Accusim so I'm quite looking forward to it.

Ah, the VN War. If either side had been better trained in ACM the other would have been wiped out...the Vietnamese didn't know proper tactics while the Americans didn't get taught the whole "hey, best not to get slow with the MiG17" lesson until much later. Interesting times though.

Come Vietnam , .. or WWI -WWII -Korean , then the laters , It dose not matter , if you read the lessons from history , today we can test this further in MP and other setup in dogfight , Tactics .. be a good test , seems i always get shunted aside .. My Kill rate is very limited winkyy.gif
