I have some questions about the actual aircraft and it's new graphic, and was wondering who on the forums might know the answer or be able to hazard an educated guess:

- Does the graphic increase drag on the aircraft?
- Does the extra weight of the graphic require more fuel?
- If the graphic requires more fuel, does anyone know how much more and what the approximate cost per flight might work out to?
- How long do these graphics generally last in terms of colour-fastness and "stickability"?
- Does anyone know the actual cost of designing, producing and applying this graphic?
- Does anyone know if the cost of the exercise is paid for solely by Air NZ, or is there some tax-payer money in there too?

Curious minds want to know... blink.gif

Nothing much in the weight , equals to 1 or not 2 passengers and has the same affect with fuel consumed , someways helps in regard to the aircraft flying over dirty cities from the smog making it easier to clean covered hull easier to clean , only real cost is the design and placing of the graphic .

That is one thing to try and put in perspective , the first Boeing 777 Cathay Pacific that flew over NZ centers back in 1996 .. It looked huge , being a regular plane spotter .. many times a photo never conveys what your eyeballs see ! .. great little followup to your post cool.gif

Rick cool.gif ideally suited to Bozz's paint , been posted before but now i wonder if this will ever get played as an advert on regular NZ channels or come to think of it around the world ... there are people unsure.gif like me who have not even seen 'Lord of the Rings' ... being a bit of a Hobbit and all rolleyes.gif
