Pete , that your vario ... go up beeps at a higher range as you go up and go down and its in a lower tone .. all the fun little gadgetry they put on themselves today

Man there were a lot of men in the sky there, you'd REALLY want to be sure of who/what was near-by. I dont read/speak French so not sure about the route etc but did they depart from Mont Blanc and land on another peak somewhere? Was pretty crowded on that LZ

No, they took off from another place, have to climb a least 3,000 mtr before heading Mont Blanc, crossing a valley than have to climb to 5,000 mtr at Italian side (due to the wind) than glide to the summit of the Mont Blanc to land at 4807 mtr!
Sorry butI don't understand excatly the name of the departure place.
This flight took place 19 august 2012 at 1:30 PM.
Good weather condition that day permit all those crazy guys to live their dream after several attemps.
