"The Palms"

Burj al Arab...

Downtown

Burj Khalifa

The Atlantis Hotel. Jubeirah palm.

Only some snapshots from Flytampa "Dubai".As you can see, it is not only "just another Airport." I took of with the Robinson R-44 very early in the morning to find out, how much of the city is around the airport... Well, it is all there, Burj al Arab, Burj Kalifa, a lot of buildings and a lot of "handmade" design, not from a library. After Fly Tampa Hongkong Kai 'Tak it was questionalble, if it was possible to top this. But... Here it is, Dubai... I think, we see much from thze aiorport in the next weeks. So it was for me interesting to give you some impression from the "around."

Very Nice, thanks for posting. What's it like on the frame rates?

The impact for the frame rate in the the city itself is low. I have no problems to fly around. The impact if you land with an airliner at RWY 12L/12R seems to be higher. It may be better, to came in from the other side and you have not the complete skyline of Dubai around your aircraft. Have a look for the sliders of AI-aircraft in the area. If you have a "full airport" you can feel it. Here the impact may be higher. Yesterday I came in from Riad with such a small aircraft like the Embraer ERJ 170 (Wilco). It was okay but the decrese of frames was there. Be carefull if you have DX 10 in use. In the handbook of the scenery it is told, that the scenery is not full compatible with DX 10.

In the 1960s its was Beirut known as the Jewel of the Middle East , but cripes i think Dubai now owns that title ... they talk about the worlds rising oceans , think they will be in a spot here in another twenty years ... supreme showing of the city of extremes cool.gif

Yes, the rising oceans are a point... we have at the moment this conference in Doha... that´s a flying hour north of Dubai... and we know, it is another alibi-action without any results... In europe we know, that the Netherlands are in big danger and over the Rhein-Maas-Delta Germany also. Hamburg, Cuxhaven, Emden, Friesland, parts of Schleswig-Holstein, Helgoland are also weak points in around 20 years.
If i have a lot of money and not wish that my grandchildren... buy an estate from the Palms of Dubai or in the Netherlands. biggrin.gif

I'd also thoroughly recommend this scenery, it truly is a masterpiece and a very keen price too! thumbup1.gif clapping.gif

Martin from FlyTampa has done an exceptional job. All the major landmarks are there, modelled to a superb level of detail and the whole area is densely covered in its own custom hand placed library objects rather than autogen.

You can fly over it for hours just marvelling at the wonders of Dubai and the textures and modelling are so good there's virtually no hit on frame rates.

Go and buy it now!
