It is one of these mornings I have no intention to do anything... So I have flown this short about 225-Miles-Leg from Dubai to Doha. Interesting is the weather. Another problem was the aircraft. Which one? Most of the airlines of the arabian nations are customers of Airbus and using them on the short flights between the Emiraes of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. But, as you know, we have no acceptable representation of the Airbus A 320 ast the moment. One Version is to use the Embraer ERJ 170 (feelthere/Wilco or Dreamwings) from Saudia. They fly in this area. But, I have this aircraft, but I like it not so much. So I have used for this flight the Qualitywings Boeing 757-200. Here we have a repaint from Saudi Arabia. This aircraft is in use by the Royal family of Saudi Arabia.

It is very early in the morning at Dubai. Think this may only a freight flight and with some minor Personal. The pilots do what the must do...cocpit-preparations...

We are underway now...

A bit slow? No. we are in the limits...

Circeling around Dubai...

We have some fog today and low clouds. The view over the city is not the best.

The sun is with us... and the things seemed to be improving.

We are at height. We must fly in only 14.000ft because of manouevres of the Airforces of Bahrein and Quatar..

Looks like a sand-storm under us...

Here you can see my fault. TCAS is off... not good...

Das Island...

We are on final.

Well, the 757 is not a real beauty... but it´s a good and safe aircraft.

Here you can see the desert and the oasis begins.

I was above the gildeslope, have corrected it and now it was time to keep the sinkrate lower.

We are comming to the stand...

All systems are down, the lights are off... another flight is history.

O.k. this was not a "Profi-Flight" at this morning... just jumping on board and flying without big preparations... But I am there and nothing is disorder and the aircraft has no cracks.... smile.gif

Here we are at the old Doha Intl. Airport. Not far away is the new airport. He is from the 60´s. But a new is beeing build, oversized for the use of Airbus A 380´s ...

Used addons:

- Quality Wings (QW) Boeing 757-200
- Fly Tampa "Dubai rebooted"
- Doha Intl. ( http://secure.simmarket.com/msk-doha-inter...(de_6928).phtml ) not a great deal, in the freeware you can find another...
- Textures for Africa and the Midle east... ( http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=FL1-GAM-001 )
- The weather was "real". For the weather i use a combination of REX and OPUS ( http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=opusfsx )

Hope it was a bit amazing for you, to be for this little trip a little bit outside NZ.

Qatar AW have for some inexplicable reason, put a 787 on Dubai-Doha.
Maybe it's just showing off.

Great shots and story, thanks for putting it together for us. Is that addon Doha scenery you are using? freeware?
I've flown this route a few times myself. I'm usually taking a heavy triple 7 though. I agree with Charl. A certain amount of showing off between the rich Arab states I would think. Maybe one day my PC might be replaced and I'll be buying that Dubai scenery as soon as I do laugh.gif

The scenery of the old airport of Doha is Payware... but... not the burner. You can find that thing at Simmarket for to much money in my eyes. The new airport of Doha is opening maybe in June 2013.. I tell this with caution, because i see the Problems with BER, the new airport of Berlin. We called him Problembär. This is a wordplay with the Bear as the symbol of Berlin and BER, the IATA-Code off Berlins new airport. "

"Problembär" was a wild brown bear that came in from Austria to Bavaria in 2006. We called him "Bruno". He has doing, what bear´s doing,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Problemb%C3%A4r

and was killed.

The Berlin Airport makes Problems over Problems. We don´t know, the time, this airport is really open. Can they make it in Doha better?
