Another contributor to a very pleasant days simming was Lawrie Roache. After the Chatham Is - Wellington run, I wanted to rest my ears so I took the afternoon run from NFTV - NFTL - NFTF (much easier to pronounce and spell) in the Jahn Team C-47, painted by Frank, IIRC.

Ha'apai was a bit like Adlestrop, which you steam folk should remember.

Many thanks, Lawrie. clapping.gif

nice

I could be wrong, but it looks like your missing the spec lighting maps with that paint

Matt, there is something odd about it, but I don't know enough about painting to say what. Looking at the texture folder, there are no Spec or Bump files and no texture.cfg either, so maybe Frank was only working for FS9. Just tried copying the texture.cfg from one of the others, but no difference. The cfg calls a fallback to the default DC3 texture, which I thought would work but it didn't. I am assuming the spec and bump files in the other textures are specific to those paints.

Cheers, and thanks for the pointers.

EDIT: - I just installed his Ethiopian paint, and it has the same appearance - looks like these are meant for FS9 only sad.gif

The 'dark' texture problem is fixed - I only had the FSX model installed. Installed the FS9 model (also into SimObjects\Airplanes ) and moved the textures over. Needed to edit the Title= line, and the VC eyepoint needs adjustment. Nae furries.

Not bad for 37 years and 40,000 hours and not to mention 80 or so new or overhauled Pratt & Whitney's smile.gif

Manfred made the plane, "fongman" did the paint, and "Snowman" supplied the scenery...
