Bear Studios MiG-17, VLC. Took off from Alex but turns out the heading indicator doesn't work. Maybe I need to uncage it or something so I'll need to read the manual. Anyway, I wandered around for a while and then Queenstown popped up on the nearby list so...

Take off from Alex.

Down the Clutha river.

Some...where

Over Queenstown

I really like this aircraft. It has some handling issues that are common to the type, like loss of control authority over 500kts and the engine taking a long time to spool up. Not too happy with two of the instruments not working but might be pilot error!

Regular was the 15 out of Wanaka ... looked a little like that , guess the 17 would be a little louder with an afterburner on it .

I am happy but embarrassed to report that the instrument problem was, indeed, pilot error. sleep.gif In that case I must highly recommend this aircraft to anybody. It doesn't have incredibly complex systems but MAN IS IT FUN!! Flies like a dream. More screens to come.

Ole Chuck Yeager had a few things to say about 15 , more negative than positive i recall , funny when you see these , the 15 at least and seen the CAC F86 in Oz they seem so docile .

Chuck Yeager is a great man but I don't really listen to his opinions.

Well they did say he was no good with the theory but bloody great with the practical hands on ... maybe it was the lingo on the gauges that got em laugh.gif
