I have this aircraft for weeks ... but nothing to do with it. No repaint from New Zealand, no Repaint from the UK... waiting. Now we have one from NZ and it is time to fly it....

First impressionj from this aircraft are the clean lines. Nothing on this aircraft is on the wrong place. She is a real beauty.

We flying today from Westport to Nelson on South Island.

The airport of Westport is not very interesting. We are going out of there.

Okay, first we going to north.

The Wingspan is 16.0 m (52 ft 6 in) and the Airfoil is Wortmann FX 63-137. She is a motorized Glider. You can gliding with her or use as a slow and economic powered aircraft. For me is this specific feeling to fly such an aircraft new. But... it is a compromise. Not the best glider and not the best powered aircraft, but it can both.

The cockpit is not roomy and sparse. It is for two people sitting side by side.

Climbing with around 40 kts.

Now we are well underway.

Think, this cloud looks a bit dangerous. Better, I go away from this.

Over the coast...

Meanwhile I have played with the trimm a little bit. I have now araound 100 kts... in crusie.

Yeah... can see the runway, but the position is worse.

A bit better...

Gliding down...

We have left the runway.

Stop...

Open the Canopy

Well this was the job for today. This aircraft has only one "bad habbit"... it is slow. But all the good news about this aircraft are, that it flies stable, you have time to plan your manouvres, It is easy to fly. Only the engline is a think, sometimes looking about. I recommand this aircraft for flights over Photo-sceneries. Often enough on a slow System like my I 5 760 you can see that the aircraft is "to fast" to fly over the photos-ground andthe result are blurred pictures. This aircraft is so slow, that this effect may not have a chance.

That's a nice series of shots. Really like your shots with clouds and coastlines. Very nice and realistic. Not my sort of plane, but a nice one to look in your shots. Thanks for sharing!

Andreas , when you Tiki tour to New Zealand for your big OE biggrin.gif your more than welcome to stop here .... and when you head further North on your travels i no plenty would welcome you in Blenheim then travel across into Nelson i'm sure Alister will pick you up .. then across the ditch you may even have some Wellingtonians , Dan for example to show you around .. then further up the country many would be more than happy to take you in ... be almost as slow as SLOWNESS can get smile.gif

It is another Version of flying... So slow.... but you have all the time of the world looking around and see. We living in hectic times. This aircraft is a little bit back to the roots. cheers1.gif
