The Scilly Islands... the divers Paradiese. More than 800 ships wrecks awaiting divers in 20... 30 meters. This is the most western coast of the UK. the entrance to the channel and one of the biggest grave of ships worldwide. This is, what the People know first. But.. making holliday at this curious Islands has some facettes.

Here you have a little bit more orientation, what we are doing now. We have today a nice little flight from Scilly Isle Airport St. Mary´s

to the first airfield in british mainland, Lands End.

Flights from the Islands to the mainland dated since 1937. The first aircraft was the "Dragon Rapide from DeHavilland. Today we have Scilly skybus with B.N. "Islander" and DHC "Twin Otter."

from 1962 to last year there was also a Helicopter Service with Sikorsky S. 62N... but this is meanwhile history.

It is not a question "big aircraft or smal aircraft". Safety reasons and checks are the essential of flying and the Twin Otter is a rugged aircraft but want also some work.

We are underway, got the RWY 14 today. Repositioning at the end of the runway...

The runway is Long enough for the Twin Otter ... a bit more comfortable as SABA in Leward Islands... but you can see we are flying direct over the water after takeoff. No time for dreaming.









Now we have a bit time to look at our aircraft, the DHC 6-300 "Twin Otter"















British mainland is in side and we have something to do to land.





Lands End is not far away from the coast. We are a bit to high.







A bit rustic the nose down... not every aircraft you can push down this way.



Lands End has only gras runway and no such fancy like runway lights.





We are moving slowly to the "terminal"...





Okay, we have got the passengers to the mainland...

Something to the used Software.

The Modell of the aircraft is the new Aerosoft "Twotter" 2.0. Here you can get a the scenery from the Scilly Island with St. Mary´s , the former Helicopter landing site Tresco and a lot of interesting VFR-scenery, one of the best I know. This is the way, I want to see "my flightsimulator" But this tiny Island is a lot of scenery.

The scenery from the mainland is not (!) ORBX. I prefer Horizon/Playsim VFR Photographic Scenery, Generation X, Version 3.

Where do we get the airport from?

Yes I am a big fan of earthsimulations, becouse, this style of scenery is, what I want to see. I like their work very much. But... the new "Isle of Man" is not so easy to install. Have some probs with it. But without any doubt, the Scilly Isle are a typical lesson for any other maker (yes ORBX also) how a VFR-Scenery can be.

And I was waiting for the Great Scillian Scumbag Anthony Quinn to get off the plane

Yeah, sometime is this ride a little bit rough. but at the Moment we have in Europe very hot and funny weather. I go today to Riga... by bus. 22 hours. Oh no! We have here in Potsdam around 36° Celsius today... but in Riga only around 20... 1071 km from Berlin to Riga.

Oh wow, didn't realise they'd done an IOM, been looking for scenery for Ronaldsway for ages !!! What makes it hard to install?

Well, some virtual pilots think, the Twin Otter is only good for remote area´s and the 3rd world. Some examples like this tell us a differtent story. The Twotter is a good choice for every flight with up to 19 Passengers under rough conditions. She is not fast, but you can fly to the shortest runways. Another flight is from St. Maarten to SABA, with 389 m one of the shortest runways used for commercial flights.
