A think all you systems types will enjoy this , i will , but from a screen point of view.

This is a very nice plane, but I wonder at the business plan of the 'businesses' building these sorts of planes? Is there really such a huge market for a WW2 dive bomber in FSX? There isn't much to blow up, no campaign, no storyline.. I can scarcely understand how you guys stay interested in FSX/ FS2004 without a virtual airline to give you goals and challenges as it is
I do wonder how many of these will actually sell. It just seems like a 'white elephant' business idea to me
I know there are a million Boeing and Airbus sims out there, but I just wonder why they don't focus their energies on the missing airliners in FSX, instead of building planes that won't sell so well.
A really good Embraer 120 or Saab 340 or Beech 1900 really come to mind, but there are no doubt others.
While it is a fantastic JU87, other than a half dozen screenshot flights before getting bored, what really is there to do with it? My airliner addons I fly for hundreds of hours a year, every year..

I will enjoy yours (and Ian's) screenshots a lot SP as you post them, but I will be one of the many thousands of simmers not buying such a plane. Surely Milviz (?) or whoever made it should possibly consider making something that will sell them more copies?

Your thoughts are good ones , i wonder the same . My reasoning behind the purchase was the potential for some nice screens , not so much for here, but for my own collection . In fact , i can only imagine 1 or 2 more posts to show some of the other schemes , and the rest I'll keep in my portfolio .

Had this been for the old CFS , i could understand , but as you say ...FSX? Imagine if these guys put the hand to a nice F-27 , or a revamped (as you said) Saab .
When Im on their (Milviz) page i drool at some of their non flightsim models ..... just amazing ....

Just hanging out for the Justflight DC-8 and Canberra now .

I think this now and again, and bring it up now and again as well. Absolutely not saying anyone shouldn't buy it, I've no doubt it's amazing, I just kinda wish deep down so much effort would be put towards more usable things *like an F27, man, I'd give my right arm for one of those!

Alister what you say knocks the nail on the head! I myself will never be purchasing any WW2 aircraft for FSX as I also only fly airliners, but where there are WW2 freebees, and where I have flown them, you do get somewhat some enjoyment out of hearing a Merlin scream and beating up airfields!

Thought you might think the same Dash I know NZFF has a real GA/military flavour to it, I can assure you we're not alone out there with our preference for airliners looking at the bigger picture of flight simulation. Surely the designers know that. Having said that, perhaps it is a whole lot easier to design and build a warbird than it is to build an airliner. I am no software programmer, but I guess it would be.
I guess that is like the Carenado business model, a new plane every three months, compared to the PMDG model, a new plane every three years

Back on topic, I am a huge fan of WW2 planes as well! I dream of the day I have a model plane shelf dedicated to all the planes that fought the Battle of Britain. The Stuka would most certainly be included

I think Alister i'd be the best example of why buy a slow againly gull winged warplane or the many others .... I think the best answer is why do i have four books on the shelf about this one type , building a model to get it looking correct but its the reading and learning about the type and wanting to understand what it would have been like ... cripes! of all places a gunner during the BOB .

Another good example was the Vulcan , Greg stopped here to have a look , first comment was you cant see anything while flying - think it came down to the atmosphere of understanding the aircraft but also because with me i did see one fly across Avonhead Primary school Christchurch - closes to the Vulcan i ever got ... and still recall the silly words the teacher said

I think with yourself being a Lockheed P3 Orion fan and having that book on the shelf would without any decision will buy it when RAZBAM get their model completed .

He could probably do really well building a scenery of a major world hub (if any are left) but luckily for us he still builds us airports from here with a much more limited market?
It just seems to me that a well modelled airliner would be more of a top seller than a well modelled WW2 or GA plane.

Al , a poll would be interesting .... we have as of now have 2146 registered members , BUT .... maybe only 30 would reply .
On those lines .... imagine if just half of these people posted in the comp .... and half of that lot voted ! ..... a Tui's moment i think.

With my logic , I look at GA aircraft and say Nah .. I could run out to the airport , knock the real driver guy on the head , jump into one and fly it off , easier than driving a car .. I was talking again to Greg and maybe due to A2As superb standing and flight character with the models their GA 172 might change my point of view.

Again that comes with the Logic comes with flight simulation , how many people could drive out to the airport and have the "know" to fly a Boeing .

I believe you get the best off both , whether reading a book of your shelf and simulating outside the combat shoot em up .. which i grew away from years ago not for the typical fun off arcade type wargame but all this scenery design got in the way, but more realistic instead of the shoot em up learn to understand the aircraft types .

I Would like to see a list from Dean , USA photo-real would be right up your alley .
