I'm just experimenting with some HTML image map linking after a recent spring flight from KWYS around Orbx's CRM region in the Carenado SR22.

Clicking on the thumbnails from the route map below should open the full sized screenshots in your browser.

Airbourne from runway 19
Large bush fire to the left
9500ft AMSL, 700ft AGL
Into the western entrance of the park at Purple Mountain
Alum Creek, where my Dad camped out in 1973
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
Traversing the 1200ft deep canyon
Beauitful VC views all around
Crossing Pyramid Peak at 10,000ft AMSL, with only 500ft clearance
Following the Lamar River valley
Cruising down the south eastern fringe of Yellowstone Lake
Loving the terrain proximity warning colours on the G1000
Overheading Old Faithful
The Grand Prismatic Spring, the largest hot spring in the USA

Setting the sim time to early morning, REX weather to a hazy 20 miles vis and pumping the autogen levels right up created a really imperative environment.

I had to keep the Cirrus' autopilot IAS hold function engaged for my CPU to be able handle loading all the terrain textures smoothly, but other than that, was really impressed at how far FSX has come since I originally installed the bare bones of the simulator.

Thanks to Charl for the inspiration to try something a little more creative than posting image after image in a row on the forums, I've always enjoyed the little extra effort you put in to storyboarding your flights!

Sweeeeet Andy.
Be nice to have the screenies popup in a new window tho, then could close and be back to where you were, or leave open and refer to the original window?

Right click and choose 'open in new tab/window'.

Thanks to Charl..
Well, the baton has passed, very nice indeed!
One could pop up a little descriptor from a map clickspot, even.

Also, the series is one of the better FSX sets I've seen - no blown-out jpeg effect visible there.
All that remains is to get the water effects to scale - isn't there a good addon water configurator for FSX somewhere??

Updated the code to do just that, wasn't too difficult smile.gif

Mouse over description text added too, to make the page a little more interactive now. Good thinking!

FSX still has the ability to look cartoony to my eye, so everytime I fly, I always opt for early morning/late evening for dulled down lighting effects and always reduce vis to around the 20nm mark.
I've experimented with a whole pile of the REX water themes but the 'Deep Blue Eyes' for inland water and 'Ocean Blue' for the sea textures seems to look the least video-gamey to me. I also have WATER_EFFECTS=5 set in my cfg, so not the full reflection option, because in real life you'd be lucky to see that level of detail on a water body on only the clearest and calmest of days!

Try FS Water Configurator, available here. It works, at least on my system.
